Awesome.

So, this week couldn't get much better!!

Why??

1. I GRADUATED!! Yes, I am officially an alumnae of the University of Georgia [and yes, I need a big-girl job now!]

2. I have an internship for the summer -- it was supposed to be unpaid. They offered course credit, but of course I don't need that since I graduated and all! I met with them on Monday, then Tuesday I got an email that said they all agreed they would pay me a $1000 monthly stipend for the three months I'll be working there! Talk about complete surprise and excitement!!

3. I just checked online to see how my big [or small :/] my paycheck was going to be Friday, when lo and behold, I got a $.37 raise! No one told me, I had no idea it was time for one, but YAY! [I know 37 cents doesn't seem like a lot, but since it put me right at the next dollar mark, it feels HUGE!]

So, needless to say, I'm in a great mood today!

Now, to link up with Leigh Ashley for Wee Bit Wednesday:

{one} do you watch the history channel? if so, what’s your favorite program?
No, not regularly. Sometimes I'll watch a show that catches my eye every now and again.

{two} what is your favorite thing to do on a rainy day?
Stay indoors, particularly in bed if I can help it...and watch Lifetime movies with the roommates for as long as possible!

{three} what does your dream house look like?
I'm not entirely sure...it depends on the climate of where I'm wanting to live at that moment. But I know I want a huge front porch; a big, open family room and kitchen; a great yard with lots of outdoor entertainment space. Right now, I really like the craftsman and coastal homes look.

{four} what state were you born in?
Georgia.

{five} do you have a change jar? if so, what do you use it for when it gets full?
No. I used to have a giant pickle jar but my parents have it now. It was supposed to be our Disney World jar, but we went before it got full!

{six} what’s the first website you look at when you get on the computer?
Facebook usually. Don't judge me.

{seven} what is your favorite breakfast?
Biscuits. Gravy. Bacon. Scrambled Eggs. YUM.

{eight} what’s the most memorable trip you’ve ever taken?
I went to Jamaica when I was in high school on a mission trip for a week, and I'd love to go back!

{nine} do you prefer your coffee black or with cream/milk/sugar?
The more sugar and flavor, the better. I'm not a fan of the way coffee tastes, but give me some Bailey's French Vanilla creamer and sugar and I'm good to go!

{ten} have you ever done a professional photo shoot?
Do Glamour Shots or senior pictures in high school count?

Last, but not least, I need some suggestions for good summer reading! Now that I'm no longer partaking in higher education, I guess I should still continue to educate myself [plus, I need something to do while my roommates are doing homework for their summer classes! haha.] I just joined Good Reads, but I could still use some help! So, what are your favorite stories of all time??

Holy tornado.

Tonight was scary! I was just sitting here studying for my presentation and final in the morning, and then all of a sudden -- TORNADO SIRENS!! Not a sound anyone wants to hear. But thankfully, the worst of the weather went just south of Athens.

Unfortunately, most of the southern US was hit hard by these storms, which killed or injured tons of people. The pictures and videos that are starting to be shown of the storms and damage are insane. So far, I think all my friends and family at Bama are safe, as well as all the family I have living in northern Alabama, thank goodness. Tuscaloosa was hit extremely hard -- practically leveled. And most of west Georgia, where I'm from, suffered some damage. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone all over the area who've had to deal with these storms over the last day or two.

So, on to happier subjects...16 days until graduation!! I have a huge presentation, and then my first final in the morning. I can't believe college is almost over. :( Time is flying by. This week has flown by! But it's ok, because this weekend is TWILIGHT! For those of you not familiar with Twilight, it's a bike race. Yes, a bike race. And it's freaking awesome. It's a weekend-long affair that means:

-the beginning of summer in Athens [and the end of classes!]
-the bars open as early as 10am. for real. and they stay open till 2am the next morning.
-there are concerts in the street.
-you can walk around with alcohol...you don't have to keep it behind the iron railings! [if you've ever been to Athens, you understand.]
-all of downtown is closed to traffic... pedestrians only!
-the bike race = dozens of men or women on itty bitty racing bicycles flying freakishly fast at night on a course set up through downtown. and when i say fast, i mean fast.

If you want to know more [and you should :)], go here. Watch the video. It's ranked one of the best/favorite bike races by the racers themselves. But that's because Athens is awesome. Duh. I'm excited.

And I know technically it's not Wednesday anymore, but I'm blaming my delay on the tornadoes. Sorry. :)

{one} have you ever been stuck in an elevator?
Yes, at cheerleading camp at Auburn when I was in high school. We got to the bottom floor but the elevator stopped and got stuck a few inches above the floor, and stayed there. But when the Auburn fire department showed up to rescue us, it was all ok. Why? Because it was all hot college guys volunteering as firefighters. Yum.

{two} have you ever ridden on an elephant?
No...that sounds a little scary. They're huge.

{three} have you ever met a well known celebrity?
I stood really close to Tom Cruise once. Does that count?

{four} do you have any food allergies?
Nope, just trees and dust.

{five} do you know how to sew?
Nope...but I need to, because I'm constantly sending things home to my mom.

{six} did you get an allowance when you were young?
Yup. Well, for a little while I think I did. I had this chart of the 'chores' I had to do in elementary school [it was a hot pink poster] and for everything I did each day I got a smiley face sticker. At the end of the week, the number of smilies determined how much money I got!

{seven} how often do you fill up your gas tank?
Way too much here lately, especially because it now costs $60!! For a Honda!!! It was less than $20 when I started driving!

{eight} have you ever been stung by a jelly fish?
Yes...it hurt.

{nine} have you ever been robbed?
Me personally, no. But when I was little we woke up in the middle of the night to people breaking into our cars.

{ten} what is the worst haircut you’ve ever had?
Uh, 6th grade bowl cut before anyone knew what a straightener was. It was BAD. I looked like a had a mushroom [a frizzy mushroom] on top of my head. The braces and general middle school awkwardness didn't help at all, either.
